y V 1 <br />N <br />`+a <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MINUTES — JANUARY 22, 2007 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at,7:05 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Police Chief W. Wozniak, Police Captain J. Gallagher, Human Resources <br />Director C. Farver, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary Donna Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated December 18, 2006 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Ubaldi indicated that the only change to the minutes is on the second page. "The Commission <br />should be familiarized with the steps..." should read "The Commission should standardize the <br />steps..." <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the amended minutes. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion <br />and unanimously approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 26 items of correspondence received and 17 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Finalize Details for the Promotional Police Sergeant Examination <br />Mr. Ubaldi discussed the final details for the Promotional Police Sergeant Examination. The testing <br />company's agreement is still pending and will need to forward along with a copy of their security <br />agreement to the Law Department. A general discussion followed concerning the options from the <br />agreement; six (6) highest scoring candidates; cost; written and oral assessment; reference list. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the final details for the Promotional Police Sergeant <br />Examination as discussed. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Address Business Related to the Promotional Examination for Assistant Fire Chief <br />Address Business Related to the Police and Fire Entry -Level Examination <br />Mr. Ubaldi prepared a time line for the Entry -Level Patrol Officer and Firefighter/Paramedic. A <br />general discussion followed regarding the time line; ad; time required to review applications; <br />application spreadsheet; review of problem applications; form letters; motion on the entry-level <br />testing and finalize details within the next few weeks; application checklist.
