Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi, W. Hohmann and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Service Director D. Limpert, Assistant <br />Law Director B. O'Malley, Employment Specialist L. Kidd <br />DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated January 28, 2008 have been submitted for approval. <br />A general discussion commenced regarding the minutes. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the amended minutes. Mr. Hohmann seconded and <br />unanimously approved. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 9 items of correspondence received and 38 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />The Law Department sent a memo to the Commission amending Rule XII. See "Old Business." <br />A general discussion commenced concerning an email from the Safety Director regarding copies of <br />candidates' applications given directly to the Police Chief and Fire Chief. An inquiry was made if it <br />is a matter of convenience; this may be a simple housekeeping issue. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Review Cynthia Walker's Military Extra Credit Points before the Establishment of the <br />Emergency Central Dispatcher Eligible List <br />Mr. Ubaldi indicated that Ms. Walker did not pass the examination; therefore, establishing her <br />Military extra credit is now moot. <br />Review the Draft Rules and Regulations from the Law Department <br />Review the Rules and Regulations <br />The Safety Director prompted the review of the probationary period because it is not provided in the <br />current rules. A general discussion commenced regarding the amended Rule XII, Section d through <br />g; work rules, regulations and policies via the Human Resources Director and the Mayor's direct <br />approval; appointing authority may have various work rules and regulations that have yet to be <br />formatted by Human Resources and specifically directed by the Mayor; the Civil Service <br />
