Mr. Ubaldi made a motion that the notice of abolishment, the statement of rationale, supporting documentation provided by the Director of Community Life Services of North Olmsted in regards to the abolishment of the position of Custodial Supervisor for Springvale Ballroom does satisfy the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code Section 124.321, directives outlined in legal opinion 2006-02 and corresponding rules and regulations of the North Olmsted Civil Service Commission. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. An inquiry was made regarding the Custodial Supervisor's salary and retirement. With wages and benefits, the employee's salary was about $52,000 per year and will have fifteen (15) years of service when he retires. Legal counsel arrived late due to a prior commitment and was informed to provide the Commission with an Order and Findings report. His concern with the process was more a technical procedure point. It wasn't entirely clear if the statement of rationale was provided to the employee when the notification was sent. The Chairman indicated that in the rules, the procedure is ambiguous.
