ORDER AND FINDINGS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />Applicant: Director of Community Life Services, John Dailey Hrg. Date: 9/21/09 <br />Address: 5200 Dover Center Road Case No: Not applicable <br />Issue: Abolishment of specified Classified Position in Recreation Division <br />The Applicant presents the Civil Service Commission with its Reorganization Plan for the Division of <br />Recreation and serves notice of intent, pursuant to Civil Service Rule XI and ORC 124.321, to abolish <br />the classified position of Custodial Supervisor at Springvale. <br />The North Olmsted Civil Service Commission, based upon substantial, probative and reliable evidence <br />in support, as presented on the record at the hearing of 912119, hereby issues the following Orders: <br />1. That the statement of rationale presented by the Director of Community Life Services in <br />support of a determination to abolish the classified position of Custodial Supervisor is hereby <br />accepted, affirmed and adopted in support of the notified abolishment; <br />2. That the abolishment of the classified position of Custodial Supervior is hereby affirmed <br />pursuant to Civil Service Rule Xl and ORC 124.321. <br />Findings in Support of the Commission Order: <br />1.1-1 That the Director of Community Life Services, as appointing authority, has expressed lack continued <br />need for the classified position of Custodial Supervisor that is to be abolished. <br />2.❑ That the abolishment of this specific positions is justified by the reorganization, as designed to <br />promote more efficient operations. <br />3.❑ That the abolishment of this position is also supported by reasons of the general economy and cost <br />savings associated with the elimination of said position. <br />4. ❑ That the City Council has authorized reorganization and abolishment of position <br />b. ❑ That the employee effected by the abolishment of the Custodial Supervisor classified position is not <br />displaced or laid off as a result of the abolishment but rather retired. <br />Accordingly, the Commission hereby Orders that the Applicant's determination is: <br />AFFI._ r� DISAFFIRMED MODIFIED <br />SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL, IF ANY: <br />RULE XIII HEARING PROCEDURE <br />Pursuant to Section 2. c., the Commission may affirm, disaffirm or modify the judgment of the appointing <br />/ / z5 /Z-0/fa <br />, Chair: Date: <br />Secretary to the Commission: Date: <br />
