rA CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - MAY 179 2010 7:30 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and K. Zolar ALSO PRESENT: Director of Human Resources C. Farver, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, and Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes dated April 12, 2010 and April 19, 2010 have been submitted far approval. A'general discussion commenced regarding a minor change to the April 12, 2010 minutes. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the amended minutes of April 12th and accept the April 19th minutes as submitted. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 93 items of correspondence received and S items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: When the Commission was preparing for the promotional testing, it was advised by the Law Department to make a motion at a later date regarding the reference lists. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the references that are used in both the Police Lieutenant and Police Sergeant Promotional tests. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. Postponement of Patrol Officer Examination The Administration contacted the Civil Service Commission to inform them about the postponement of the Patrol Office examination. The new Safety Director, Mayor and the Administration determined that a detailed study needs to be done to determine the staffing needs of the composition of the department so it is best not to go forward until that is done. Ideally the administration would like the study to be done within the year. Any issues pertaining to the Entry - Level examination were tentative and do not need to be rescinded.
