CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SPECIAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - JUNE 712010 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:34 PM <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Director of Human Resources C. Farver, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, <br />Police Sergeant J. Medves, Patrol Officer A. Kazy, Police Chief W. Wozniak, and Civil Service <br />Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Review Results and Certify Highest -Ranking Candidates in Promotional Police Lieutenant and <br />Police Sergeant Examinations <br />For the Police Lieutenant's test, there were four (4) candidates who took the written examination <br />and two (2) went on to the oral assessment. The Commission has the tabulated results; the written <br />examination for Police Lieutenant was weighted at 50%, the oral at 50%. The seniority and <br />efficiency credits were applied for extra credits. In ascending order the rankings are second, Jeffrey <br />Medves with 96.03% and ranking first, Walter Novak with 97.49%. The Chairman said thank you <br />for participating and congratulations to Walter Novak. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion that the Civil Service Commission creates from these respective <br />rankings an eligible list from which candidates will be selected for fill vacancies for the <br />position of Police Lieutenant and that Walter Novak be certified immediately to fill the <br />vacancy for Police Lieutenant. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Sixteen (16) Patrol Officers took the written examination. Six (6) of the top ranking candidates <br />went on to take the oral examination. The written was weighted at 60% of the. score, the oral at <br />40%; extra credit was awarded. In ascending order, the rankings are as follows: ranking sixth with <br />a score of 89.68% was Angel Kazy; ranking fifth with a score of 92.38% was Daniel Barrett; <br />ranking fourth with a score of 92.99% was David Woehrman; ranking third with a score of 96.18% <br />was Eric Morgan; ranking second with a score of 96.68% was Robert Dungan; ranking first with a <br />score of 98.88% was Robert Wagner. <br />
