COMMUNICATIONS:
There were 13 items of correspondence received and 14 items of correspondence sent out by the
Civil Service Commission.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
Promotional Examination for Road Foreman
The Commission received results for the Promotional Examination for Road Foreman and already
has seniority extra credit calculated. All that remains is to determine the means for extra credit for
efficiency. Some of the candidates were evaluated according to ten categories and some nine
categories. The best way to apply efficiency credit would be to have the scores averaged. There
would be a total score of fifty (50) for the one and forty five (45) for the other as a base score and
divide that by ten (10) or nine (9) so you would have five (5) no matter what and divide that by 2 so
the final range would be 0 to 2.5 and that would be comparable to Police and Fire. Another choice is
simply to omit the tenth category. This way the individuals are judged according to what they were
evaluated on. A general discussion commenced regarding the extra credit procedure.
Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to use the average method for determining extra credit for
efficiency as stated above. Mr. Barrett seconded and unanimously approved.
The scores for the Promotional Road Foreman's examination is as follows: ranking 5`h with a score
of 89.24% is Timothy Szabo; ranking 4th with a score of 89.37% is Angelo Savarino; ranking 3rd
with a score of 91.40% is David Dunlap; ranking 2"d with a score of 97.86% is Shaun Solomon; and
ranking 1" with a final score of 102.76% is David Demaline.
