He also had a phone conversation with the <br /> Law Director regarding the same. The outcome of his research was leadership, communication <br /> skills, sense of duty and education. <br /> Chairman Barrett had previously reviewed the job description and the packet that was provided by <br /> Mr, Evans from Poly-Tech. Most of the municipalities' examples included education and <br /> certifications. Some of the certifications included were Executive Fire Officer Certification, Fire <br /> Inspector Certification, NIMS 400 (National Incident Management System), EMT and Paramedic <br /> certifications. Some municipalities had given the candidate a one (1) year window to obtain <br /> certification. A general discussion commenced regarding the contents of the job description which <br /> include educational requirements, leadership responsibility, certifications, experience, etc. The job <br /> description is the foundation of the process. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes to accept the job description as <br /> discussed with the changes that the Commission would like to see: Executive Fire Officer is <br /> desirable; Fire Inspector is required; EMT and/or Paramedic are required.
