The initial protest regarding Patrolman Bielozer still <br /> stands. <br /> The protest was docketed and noticed as an eligibility issue. Rule III, Promotions, Section 3, <br /> eligibility relates to time in grade. Rule IV, Scoring, Protest, Ranking, uses the word protest but <br /> docsn't necessarily indicate that there is a protest on eligibility per say. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to grant the protest as filed by <br /> Detective Fioritto in regards to Brian Bielozer. Roll Call: Chairman Barrett, no; <br /> Commissioner Hayes, no. <br /> Motion did not pass. <br /> A general discussion commenced regarding the extra credit for the Promotional Police Sergeant <br /> candidates. The Secretary stated that the original seniority extra credit was documented in August, <br /> 2013 and since then three (3) candidates extra credit changed due to anniversary dates. Patrol <br /> Officer Angel Walling received 8.2 extra credit points for 11 years. Her anniversary date is <br /> 10/29/2001 and her amended extra credit points are 8.8 for 12 years. Patrolman Steven Dombek <br /> has an anniversary date of 111411999. Instead of 13 years, 9.4 extra credit points, he will receive 10 <br /> extra credit points for 14 years. Detective Charles Fioritto has the same date of hire as Steven <br /> Dombek and will amend the same extra credit points with 14 years of seniority. The ranking on the <br /> Promotional Police Sergeant Eligible List remains the same. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to accept the re-computation of <br /> the seniority and the revised test scores on the Promotional Police Sergeant Eligible List. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> After concluding with Mr. Bielozer's legal counsel, Chairman Barrett reviewed amended dates for <br /> the Fire Lieutenant's Examination. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to reinstate the January 27, <br /> 2014 regular meeting, cancel the special Civil Service meeting of 213114, conduct a special <br /> meeting on March 10, 2014 and cancel the regular scheduled meeting of March 17, 2014. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Commissioner Ubaldi was not present for his last meeting. Chairman Barrett, Commissioner Hayes <br /> and Legal Counsel Bryan O'Malley lauded Commissioner Michael Ubaldi for serving the Civil <br /> Service Commission and the City very well for many years. He was a historian and was a very <br /> good resource for the Commission, The Commission wishes him well. <br /> VI.
