LV
VI.
appointment to entry-level positions. Under Rule VII, Section 7, persons on Iist shall be notified in
writing and advised of their eligibility to compete in a rescheduled examination.
Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to revoke the Entry -Level
Secretary II Eligible List due to insufficient names remaining on the list.
Motion passed unanimously.
General discussion commenced concerning a new Secretary II examination; amending components
from the previous test in the event we have recurring applicants; and in house testing. The
amended test will consist of math, punctuation, proof reading and have a computer element. General
conversation followed on the topic of lowering the test fee to $10.00. Chairman Barrett talked about
the process of sending letters to the remaining candidates on the Secretary 11 Eligible List to inform
them about retaking the exam. Director Farver agreed that there should be some form of
communication sent to the candidates. When the temporary appointment(s) has been made, the
Commission will have 120 days to conduct an examination, Director Farver explained that a
temporary appointment has not been made and are still in the process of collecting applications, and
so far we have twenty-seven (27) that applied through the traditional recruitment process that will
end February 27, 2015. The appointing authority would then conduct interviews and make a
determination. There is no date set for the examination. A general discussion commenced regarding
the time line to administer the exam and to expand the Fridays and Saturdays to full days.
Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to set up testing that was done
in the past.
Motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motioned passed unanimously.
