I�gible List <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to remove the name of Renee <br />Meinke from the Entry -Level Secretary I1 Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to certify the name of Sarah <br />Somogyi to the Entry -Level Secretary II Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Revise Meeting Date of August 2015 <br />The Promotional Fire Captain Examination is scheduled for July 18, 2015 and the results will be <br />received shortly thereafter. General discussion commenced to cancel the regular scheduled meeting <br />of August and hold a special meeting August 3`d or August 10th <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to cancel the regular scheduled <br />meeting in August and have a Special Civil Service meeting on August 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Veteran Extra Credit <br />General discussion commenced concerning Rule V, Extra Credit for Military Service and <br />Education. State law allows veterans a twenty percent (20%) extra credit and the Civil Service <br />Commission can deviate from State law. Amendment to Rule V, Section la and Ib would include a <br />maximum of 10 extra credit points and add current veteran status as well as recognize the National <br />Guard. <br />Amendment to Rule V, Educational Credit for Patrol Officer, Section 2a and 2b includes extra <br />credit for applicants having a current certification by the State of Ohio as a peace officer and the <br />maximum amount of points for education will be increased to six (6) points. <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to amend Rule V, Section la and <br />1 b to increase the maximum amount of extra credit points to 10 and add language for current full <br />time duty as well as recognize the National Guard and amend Section 2a and 2b with accepting <br />State Certification and/or diploma from an accredited institution and increase the maximum points <br />to six (6) points. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />General discussion commenced regarding entry-level appointment: certifying ten (10) candidates <br />instead of seven (7) candidates for the appointing authority, passed over two (2) times instead of <br />three (3) times and promotional testing. <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT: <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motioned passed_Imanimously.
