Motion by Chairman Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to certify the following name on the <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List: Alex Lawson and to amend the Entry -Level <br />Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Dispatcher Exam <br />General discussion commenced regarding the Dispatcher Exam and why testing is not necessary for <br />a dispatcher position. Safety Director D. Glauner stated that they use the "farm system" where a <br />person who retires or resigns their full-time position can be filled. with a part time employee instead <br />of having an exam where the top candidate gets the position. To be a dispatcher a person has to <br />have LEADS and EMD certifications. Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley stated the Charter dictates <br />the classification or the unclassification in Article VI Section 3 <br />Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to make the Dispatcher position <br />classified non-competitive. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Network Administrator Classification <br />General discussion commenced regarding the Network Administrator and the Help Desk <br />Coordinator to make both positions classified non-competitive based on the high degree of <br />qualifications that are required for both positions and that there are no entry-level tests available for <br />these positions, as stated by the Human Resource Director M.
