CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - OCTOBER 16, 2017 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: W. Brake, T. Smith and M. Kelly <br />ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director M. Gallo, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, <br />and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Chairman Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, that the minutes of the September <br />18, 2017 meeting be approved as received. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, that the minutes of the October <br />2, 2017 meeting be approved as received. <br />Commissioner Smith: yes; Commissioner Kelly: yes; Chairman Brake: abstain. <br />Motion passed 2-1. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 6 items of correspondence received and 20 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List <br />Motion by Chairman Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to remove the following name from <br />the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic List due to receiving a voluntary removal letter pursuant to <br />Rule VII, Section 10: Brennen Fletcher. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Chairman Brake, to certify the following name on the <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List: Anthony Gallam and to amend the Entry -Level <br />Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List <br />Motion by Chairman Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to remove the following name from <br />the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to receiving a voluntary removal letter pursuant to <br />Rule VII, Section 10: Jack Grasso. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
