CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - NOVEMBER 19, 2018 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: W. Brake, and M. Kelly ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director 13. O'Malley and Civil Service Secretary S. Freeland ABSENT : Commissioner A. Campbell IIuman Resource Director M. Gallo II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Brake, that the minutes of the October 15, 2018 meeting be approved as received. Motion passed unanimously. III. COMMUNICATIONS: 'There were 2 items of correspondence received and no items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. NEW BUSINESS: Civil Service Vice Chair Election Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to nominate Molly Kelly as Civil Service Vice Chairman. Motion passed unanimously. Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam General discussion commenced regarding the passing score, examination fee, location, number of candidates permitted to take the exam and approve the tentative calendar dates. The passing score is set at 70%, the fee for the test is set at $50.00, the exam will take place at St. Clarence and the first two -hundred (200) with completed applications will be permitted to take the exam, along with the posting of the exam in different outlets such as newspaper and online ad, academies/colleges, lire Chief Association, l acebook and City website. Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to expedite the testing calendar dates if St. Clarence is available early March and if St. Clarence is not available to go with the original calendar dates for the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam. Motion passed unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Brake, to set the passing score at 70° o for the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam. Motion passed unanimously.
