CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - NOVEMBER 19, 2018 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: W. Brake, and M. Kelly <br />ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director 13. O'Malley and Civil Service Secretary S. Freeland <br />ABSENT : Commissioner A. Campbell <br />IIuman Resource Director M. Gallo <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Brake, that the minutes of the October <br />15, 2018 meeting be approved as received. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />'There were 2 items of correspondence received and no items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Civil Service Vice Chair Election <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to nominate Molly Kelly as <br />Civil Service Vice Chairman. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam <br />General discussion commenced regarding the passing score, examination fee, location, number of <br />candidates permitted to take the exam and approve the tentative calendar dates. The passing score is <br />set at 70%, the fee for the test is set at $50.00, the exam will take place at St. Clarence and the first <br />two -hundred (200) with completed applications will be permitted to take the exam, along with the <br />posting of the exam in different outlets such as newspaper and online ad, academies/colleges, lire <br />Chief Association, l acebook and City website. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to expedite the testing calendar <br />dates if St. Clarence is available early March and if St. Clarence is not available to go with the <br />original calendar dates for the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Brake, to set the passing score at 70° o <br />for the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Exam. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
