`1 ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW JANUARY 21, 1987
PAGE 2
approved. It was noted that the Board had not seen a site plan rela-
tive to how the planters will work, but the Board has been advised that
there is enough space.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
1) Jerry Galbreath Office Building, 29168 Lorain Road
Proposal to convert former racquetball club to office building.
(Variance for parking granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals
January 7, 1987.) (Heard by Planning Commission January 13, 1987.)
Mr. Del Guidice, architect, presented plans to convert building to
executive type office building; windows and atrium will be added.
Variance was granted so that parking would not have to be put in front
set back. Brick to match the existing will replace the lava rock
on a portion of the exterior. Mr. Pattison suggested that the one
fake window be eliminated from the plan since that elevation is not
highly visible and would not look the same as the others anyway. He
also pointed out that some sort of fire protection (fire shutters)
would be needed on the windows since they are only 5` off the property
line. The existing ground sign is to be removed and only the address
will be on the building. No handicapped spaces are shown on the plan,
and Mr. Pattison suggested installing 2 next to building and banking
2 in the green area. D. Pattison moved to apvrove the architectural
elements as presented as being basically a continuation and sympathic
adaptation of the existing building, and that the lack of signage has
been noted, seconded by J. Britton, and unaimously approved.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p. m.
M. Case, Chairwoman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
