Property is zoned B -One Family Residence. The
following variance is requested:
1. A 10 ft. variance for width of driveway adjacent to an attached garage; code allows a
maximum width of 12 ft. in a side yard, applicant shows width of 22 ft.; Section
1135.02(B)(2)(c).
Mr. Aspery said the applicant is proposing to replace his existing driveway and is seeking to
widen an existing paved area to the north of their house. Code allows a maximum width of 12
feet for a driveway section in a side yard adjacent to an attached garage, whereas the applicant
currently shows a maximum width of 22 feet towards the rear of their garage, requiring a
variance of 10 feet. Mr. Limpert the additional space would allow him to maneuver his boat
trailer easier around the garage. Mr. Shoemaker said he does not have any issues with the
proposal and sees how it will make life easier for the applicant. Mr. Mackey agreed with Mr.
Limpert that backing a boat through the existing area would be very difficult.
