I. <br />II. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - FEBRUARY 25, 2019 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL: Chairman W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: W. Brake, M. Kelly and A. Campbell <br />ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Safety Director D. Glauner and Civil <br />Service Secretary S. Freeland <br />ABSENT: Human Resources Director M. Gallo <br />DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, that the minutes of the <br />January 28, 2019 meeting be approved as received. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 15 items of correspondence received and 55 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Review Entry -Level Firefighter Applications <br />The Commission reviewed each application in question. General discussion commenced regarding <br />military extra credit, rejection of application with personal check, rejection of application not <br />passing the required physical agility time limit, and rejection of application with an expired <br />paramedic certification. The Commissioners asked the Civil Service Secretary to reach out to the <br />applicants to see if they could provide more paperwork concerning their active duty. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, to reject application with <br />personal check. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to reject application that did not <br />pass the required physical agility time. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, to reject application with <br />an expired paramedic certification. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
