Mr. Hoelter said the fence was installed in 1978 and was repaired a couple times since it then. When the
sanitary line was replaced last year, several posts of the fence were damaged. He did not think the fence
would block the house but would cover the brick foundation since it sits on a higher grade than the
street. Mr. Hoelter believed his fence adds to the character of the city, similar to others he has seen. He
submitted a letter from Mr. Dingman, 5001 Porter Road, showing support for the proposal. Mr. Herbster
said the fence has been there since he moved in and he thought the fence looks great.
Mr. Mackey moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the following variance for 19-15149;
David Hoelter; 4985 Porter Road:
1. A 6 in. variance for a picket fence installed in front yard; code permits 30 in., applicant shows
36 in., Section 1135.02(D)(2).
Motion passed 3-0.
19-15175; Jeremy Willis; 4539 Georeette Avenue
Representative: Jeremy Willis, owner
Proposal consists of a home addition. Property is zoned C -One Family Residence.
The following variance is requested:
1. A 4 ft. 6 in. variance for a dwelling located closer than permitted to a detached garage; code requires
15 ft., applicant shows 10 ft. 6 in., Section 1135.02(B)(1)(c).
Mr. Willis said the addition would allow them to expand the galley kitchen and add living space. There
would still be enough room for equipment to get between the home and the garage and he did not think
it would look out of character in the neighborhood. He submitted photos of the home two doors down
showing a garage that is closer than 15 feet to the home. Mr. Mackey thought the applicant was making
a substantial improvement to his property, Mr. Allain said the proposal would not be an issue due to the
size of the lot.
Mr. Papotto moved, seconded by Mr. Mackey, to approve the following variance for 19-15175;
Jeremy Willis; 4539 Georgette Avenue:
1. A 4 ft. 6 in. variance for a dwelling located closer than permitted to a detached garage; code
requires 15 ft., applicant shows 10 ft. 6 in., Section 1135.02(B)(1)(c).
Motion passed 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Mackey moved, seconded by Mr. Mr. Papotto, to excuse the absences of Mr. Raig and Mr.
Rahm, motion approved 3-0.
Mr. Allain welcomed Eric Allain, Jr. to the meeting who was learning about local government for his
Boy Scout merits. Wijthno fyroer business, the meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
un is Charr Nicole Ram o -Ackerman, Administrative Assistant
Approved:  y
