LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR MEETING OF MAY 11, 2020 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm via online public meeting. <br />Present: David Neville, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Tom Dubowski, Jim Morse, Gretchen Schuler, Paul <br />Schumann <br />Absent: Duane Limpert, Sarah Egan -Reeves, Jim Gearhart <br />Staff: Planning and Community Development Director Kim Lieber, Administrative Assistant <br />Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />meeting minutes of March 9, 2020, motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />North Olmsted Journey <br />Mr. Neville said the North Olmsted Journey has been postponed until 2021 due to the <br />coronavirus pandemic. <br />Heritage Home Program <br />Ms. Lieber said the information session originally scheduled for May 7, 2020 was canceled. <br />When she reached out to see if the community -wide mailing could be changed at the end of <br />March, it was too late to change it since it had already been sent to the printer. The tentative new <br />date for the information session will be September 21, 2020 and a postcard will be sent out. If an <br />in-person session is not able to be done, other ways to convey information will be determined. <br />Historic District Mailing <br />Ms. Lieber said the Historic District postcards were printed but were not mailed yet because staff <br />was unsure if the information would be timely or appropriate at the beginning of the pandemic. If <br />the Commission would like, a sticker can be put over the incorrect information session date so <br />the postcards can be mailed out. Ms. Cardarelli said work on homes has not decreased during the <br />pandemic so it would be beneficial for the residents to receive the information. Mr. Schumann <br />agreed and said residents have been calling City Hall about the program. Ms. Lieber agreed to <br />send the mailing, especially since home improvement projects are continuing. <br />Commission Training <br />Ms. Lieber said a date for the training had not been decided yet. The Commission previously <br />agreed to learn more about community engagement. Ms. Lieber wanted to know if the <br />Commission was still most interested in the topic or change it, given the recent struggles related <br />to the shutdown.
