access to the retention pond area with grass pavers to support vehicles. No pole lights are shown;
the only lighting on the site will be from building lighting, which meets code. Brickscape is
shown in the right-of-way as required by code. One wall sign and one ground sign are proposed,
which conform to code in height and area.
Mr. DiFranco said permits were pulled and construction began for the previously approved plans
and no changes to the site work are proposed. Mr. O'Malley addressed the violation regarding
the fence around the detention pond that was discussed at the February meeting. The violation
has been abated and taken care of through the Building Department and Mayor's Court.
Mr. Flynn said the issues that were brought up at the February meeting have been addressed and
they are looking forward to moving forward with the project. Mr. Flynn said he would ask their engineer to review the location to see if they
can be relocated to the side of the building. If not, he proposed having a landscape area with
some greenery around the units, Mr. Olivos agreed with that suggestion. Ms. Nader with
relocating the condensers. She asked if a paint sample was provided for the overhead doors, Mr.
Flynn said it will be very close to what is shown on the plans. The wasabi green color is one of
the brand colors for Extra Space. Ms. Nader was fine with the color if it is close to the plans. Mr.
Flynn pointed out that there is a limestone pattern in the brick walls. He added that he met with
the neighbor on March 41' to review the site screening and fencing. Mr. O'Malley suggested
having a specific quantity of high quality materials to be included in the project or tie it to the
plan presented in the motion for approval.
Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to approve the plans as presented for 19-
15729; Extra Space Storage; 24002 Lorain Road, conditioned on the following:
1. Item 3 on L-100 under General Notes to be updated to read "American Hort" instead of
the "American Association of Nurserymen."
2. HVAC units are to be moved to other parts of the building, if possible. If not possible,
landscape buffer is to be provided to shield them from the public's eye.
3. The higher quality materials requirement is to be waived as long as products are
installed per the plans presented at this meeting.
Motion passed 6-0.
COMMUNICATIONS
Administrative Approvals
Butternut Ridge Apartments replaced the basketball courts with a pergola and recreation area.
The Artist for a Day plaza shake shingle roof will be replace with a metal roof.
