RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />26000 LORAIN ROAD <br />MINUTES FOR JUNE 15, 2020 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mr. Scarl called the meeting to order at 7:05 at the Recreation Center Administrative <br />Offices and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Chris Scarl, Kim Rahm,Vera Brewer, Ed Garrity, Marry Clancy <br />Absent: None <br />Staff: Betsy Drenski, Commissioner; Chris Wetmore, Assistant Commissioner; <br />Michael Tilenni <br />Visitor: None <br />RECREATION CENTER COVID UPDATE: <br />The Recreation Center closed on March 13th due to Covid 19. All part time employees <br />were laid off and full time employees were furloughed twenty hours per week. We had <br />to cancel the Ice Show, Learn to Skate, Learn to Swim, Gymnastics, Tennis, Summer Camp <br />and Baseball. For Fitness we offered to extend memberships for the time that we were closed. <br />We reopened Fitness on June Pt and the pools on June 15th. Gymnastics is open for the <br />team participants only. Employees are required to wear masks and everyone's temperature <br />is taken upon entering the building. Our maintenance staff is keeping everything clean <br />around the clock. <br />RECREATION RENOVATION PLAN UPDATE: <br />The rink project was able to start early due to the shutdown and is making progress. <br />The ballfield project is on hold due to the shut down and budget cuts. <br />The walking path and pocket park will be voted on tomorrow night by council.* <br />*Update: Both projects passed through Council unanimously. <br />4 <br />I <br />
