The first-time effort seemed successful in engaging the community since Homecoming was
canceled, as shown in the summary document. One lesson from the project was to make sure to
get permission to use photos of people who are still alive. Mr. Limpert suggested posting photos
and having the community try to figure out where it was taken for a future series.
Records
George Corell is interested in donating videos of Homecoming parades and All Scouts Day. The
Commission would like to get more information about the videos before making a decision. If
the videos are on 8mm film, they would need to be transferred to a different media type in order
to be used. Ms. Rambo -Ackerman will work on getting more specifics about the videos.
Sign Code
Mr. Schumann said that the First Universalist Church of North Olmsted went before City
Council to discuss the proposed sign code update. It looks like the majority of City Council is in
favor of allowing electronic signage at landmarked properties. Ms. Lieber added that City
Council's change would permit electronic signage on individual landmarked properties but not in
a historic district. Mr. Morse thought a landmarked property should be allowed to have a sign
that incorporates a different technology than what would have been available at the time the
building was constructed. Mr. Limpert thought signs are separate from the historic building and
signage that is easy to maintain by businesses and nonprofits should be permitted.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:31 pm.
David Nevillef Chair Nicole Rambo -Ackerman, Administrative
Assistant
Date: al Vl ZOz(
