PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF OCTOBER 28, 2020 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Malone called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm via online public meeting. <br />Present: Greg Malone, Julie Nader, Dave Anderson, Darrick Matthews, Humberto Olivos <br />Absent: Tom Patton, Paul Schumann <br />Staff. Planning Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, City Engineer <br />Pietro DiFranco, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to approve the Planning & Design <br />Commission minutes of August 26, 2020, motion passed 5-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />20-17834; SPIE, LLC; PPN 234-09-002 & -004 <br />Representative: Dale Schmidt, owner <br />The proposal consists of splitting off a portion of PPN 234-09-004 and consolidating it with PPN <br />234-09-002. Properties are zoned Limited Industry — Industrial Park. Ms. Lieber said the <br />resulting parcels would be zoning compliant and had no objection. Mr. DiFranco said the city <br />needs corrected, the city officials' names should be added and the county should approve it <br />before the plat is signed. Mr. Schmidt said Polaris checked with the county tax department <br />before the plans were submitted. The county needed Mr. Schmidt's signature as owner of SHIE, <br />LLC and DASHE. Mr. Schmidt will have the county's comments sent to Mr. DiFranco. <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to approve 20-17834; SPIE, LLC; PPN <br />234-09-002 & -004 consisting of splitting off a portion of PPN 234-09-004 and consolidating <br />it with PPN 234-09-002, conditioned upon the city engineer's comments being addressed, <br />motion passed 5-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Proposed Chanter 1135 Updates <br />Ms. Lieber reviewed the proposed changes that were made in response to frequent residential <br />permit applications where there was a lack of clarity or frequent variance requests. Section <br />1135.02 Home Occupations references name plates that are not discussed in the sign code. This <br />was changed to general signage to match Chapter 1163. Street line references throughout were <br />updated to front lot line to be more consistent with the definitions chapter. No additional changes <br />were proposed to the animal shelter section since it is currently in City Council committee. A 50 <br />square foot limit for front stoop/step projections was suggested since there is no limit currently. <br />
