CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SPECIAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES — AUGUST 23, 2021 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: W. Brake and A. Campbell <br />ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Mayor K. Kennedy, Police Chief B. <br />Wagner, and D. Eccleston, HR Administrative Secretary <br />ABSENT: Human Resource Director M. Gallo <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, that the July 26, 2021 <br />meeting be approved as received. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 7 items of correspondence received and 29 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Lateral Patrol Officer Eligible List <br />General discussion commenced regarding the Lateral Patrol Officer Eligible List. The Commission <br />received a voluntary removal letter from original rank candidate #6 and the Administration hired <br />original rank #I I and #22. Three additional names will then need to be certified by the <br />Commission. Discussion continued regarding original ranked candidates. Original ranked <br />candidates indicate whether or not they are certified among the candidates in the pool and does not <br />necessarily mean that they will be offered employment. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, that the Commission accept <br />these changes to the eligible list as discussed: original rank #6 is a voluntary removal and original <br />rank 411 and #22 are removed as they were hired. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Campbell, that the Commission <br />certifies original rank #40, 41 and #42 as replacement of the three (3) candidates that have been <br />removed. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
