minutes of the meeting make a presentation to be presented to council. <br /> Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to recommend to city council that <br /> Springvale Ballroom be designated as landmark,with the following addition: <br /> 1. The Springvale Ballroom Landmark Designation Proposal, provided by the North <br /> Olmsted Landmarks Commission be included with the recommendation. <br /> Motion Passed 6-0. <br /> ADMINISTRATION REQUESTS <br /> Chapter 1115 Definitions A-B <br /> 1115.02 Definitions Modification of the Definition of APARTMENT and addition of <br /> TOWNIIOII SE <br /> A. Current Definition: APARTMENT means a multi-family building comprised of three (3) or <br /> more dwelling units, separated from each other by fireproof walls, floors and'or ceilings, of <br /> concrete, masonry or the equivalent, arranged one above the other and%or side by side, each unit <br /> having at least one (I) entrance connected to a common interior hall leading to the exterior. <br /> B. Proposed Update: APARTMENT means a multi-family dwelling comprised of three (3) or <br /> more dwelling units arranged side by side and /or one above the other. and each having a <br /> separate entrance or entrances connected to a common inside outside entrance or <br /> entrances. Additionally. -Apartment- as used herein includes a"Townhouse" <br /> use. Townhouse- as used herein means a multi-family dwelling comprised of three (3) or more <br /> dwelling units attached by common fireproof walls_each unit having at least two separate <br /> exterior entrances on the ground floor, with no common lobby, foyer, or similar hallway serving <br /> more than one dwelling. <br /> Ms. Nader read the current and proposed update of the definition of Apartment. In the definition <br /> that was posted on the agenda. in the sentence "a common inside outside entrance or entrances <br /> was discussed. Director Upton clarified that the word "inside- should be removed. <br /> Ms. Nader asked if the objective of this agenda item would be to make a recommendation to <br /> council. Director Cpton explained that at the June 22nd meeting a draft of this request was read <br /> with also a separate request for an update to the definition townhome. After a discussion with <br /> law Director Ciareau it was determined that one ordinance could accomplish the updated <br /> definitions of apartment and townhome. A discussion was held regarding the specific routing <br /> and placement of the proposed update. Director Upton stated that upon the recommendation, he <br /> would confirm with Law Director Gareau for the specific drafting of the ordinance and where it <br /> needs to be routed. <br /> Ms. Nader verified that the word apartment will be a more general term and the townhouse <br /> definition will fit under the apartment definition. Director Limon answered yes. and alter <br /> speaking with law Director Gareau it further defined the typologies of an apartment. <br />
