CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SPECIAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - MAY 22, 2023 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />L ROLL CALL: Chair called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: A. Flannery, J. Cotofan, T. Fratini <br />ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Director J. Scofield, Councilman M. Madden, Police Sergeant <br />R. Kummer, Police Officer C. Kelley, Police Officer J. Richards, Police <br />Officer M. Abuzahrieh, Human Resources Director L. Kidd, Assistant Law <br />Director B. O'Malley, and HR Administrative Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to approve the minutes of <br />March 20, 2023. <br />Motioned passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 3 items of correspondence received and i I items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Police Officer Lateral Transfer Eligible List <br />The Commission received a voluntary removal from original rank #5 on the Police Officer Lateral <br />Transfer Eligible List. <br />Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to remove original rank #5 <br />from the Police Officer Lateral Transfer Eligible List due to a voluntary removal. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Determine Classification for new position: Public Safety Information Systems Specialist <br />Director Scofield addressed the Commission regarding the Information Systems Specialist position. <br />This position supports the IT needs for Police and Fire, reports directly to the Police Captain; fixing <br />technology issues with Dispatch along with any new equipment; assisting with the new speed signs; <br />handles public records request; setting up new body -worn camera program; general Help Desk <br />troubleshooting; public safety knowledge; etc. <br />
