Director Upton introduced the sign variances as: a 14.66 s.f. variance for Wall Sign area; code <br />limits the sign area to the primary facade width of the principal building (one square foot of sign <br />area per lineal foot of primary fagade width) which is 74 feet; applicant requests 88.66 s.f. <br />Section 1163.12 table 1163.12-1. A 5 feet variance for Wall Sign location; code limits the sign to <br />12 inches to either the top or side edges of the surface or wall to which it is attached; applicant <br />requests 7 inches, section 1163.12.A.6.d. A 13.96 s.f. variance for Canopy Sign area; code limits <br />the sign area to 15 s.f.; applicant requests 28.96 s.f., section 1163.12.A.7.a. A 14.66 s.f. variance <br />for secondary facade Sign area; code limits the sign area to %40 of the facade width which is <br />14.44 s.f.; applicant requests 45.2 s.f., Section 1163.12.A.5.c. He added that the department was <br />in support of the primary fagade variances. <br />Ms. Woyma explained the reason for larger signage was due to the logo change and the <br />uniqueness of the lot size. She explained that customers were not able to see the sign from <br />Brookpark Road, and they wanted to be seen from Lorain and Brookpark. <br />Mr. Kovach made a motion; seconded by Mr. Mackey; to approve 23-24413; Laura Higgins- <br />Woyma; 26187 Lorain Road. <br />Board members discussed; beginning with Mr. Mackey stating he lived near the bank and was <br />able to understand the need for more visibility.
