The Secretary has submitted to the Commission a calendar
of events: on March 30, 2025 an ad will be placed on Cleveland.corn, Facebook, as well as any
applicable websites; the test will run from March 31, 2025 to April 28, 2025.
Conversation commenced between Commissioner Flannery and Commissioner Cotofan regarding
the need for the Lateral List as we are only hiring two officers. Commissioner Flannery says she
thinks they (appointing authority) like the lists to be run consecutively so they can rotate lists. Asst.
Law Director O'Malley thinks that the appointing authority likes to have greater flexibility and get
as many potential candidates as possible in the system and that the Commission has historically
cautioned the authority that its interested in the vacancies and how many vacancies are being filled
by what list so that all vacancies aren't filled by one list to discourage applicants to, take the entry
level test. The Commission has requested .to see the history of the Police Officer hiring between the
lists at the next .meeting. Asst. Law Director O' Malley says keeping both lists in process is dynamic.
— it gives more flexibility..
Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to open Police Lateral
Transfer calendar for 2025.
Motion passed: Commissioner Flannery, yes; Commissioner Cotofan, no; Commissioner Fratini,
} yes.
VI.
