LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MINUTES OF JULY 18,2022 <br /> ROLL CALL • <br /> Mr.Neville called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm via online meeting. <br /> Present:David Neville,David Anderson,Tom Dubowski,James Gearhart,Gretchen Schuler,Jim <br /> Morse,Sarah Egan Reeves <br /> Absent:Duane Limpert,Elizabeth(Cardarelli) <br /> Staff:City Planner Nahid Parsipour,Law Assistance Bryan O'Malley <br /> Ms.Schuler moved,seconded by Mr. Gearhart,to excuse the absences of Mr.Limpert and • <br /> Ms.Kukwa,motion passed 7-0. <br /> REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Ms. Gearhart moved, seconded by Mr.Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br /> minutes of May 09,2022,motion passed 7-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 22-22122;Robert Parry;27150 Butternut Ridge Road <br /> Representatives:Robert Parry,the applicant <br /> 27150 Butternut Ridge Road. <br /> Mr. Parry explained that he would like to side the main house (1917) with new Norandex <br /> Sandstone Vinyl Clapboard to match recent home addition(2020) and covering current cement <br /> shingle siding. <br /> Mr.Neville stated that they do not typically approve Vinyl on historic houses. <br /> Mr.Parry stated that if he can use Hardie board for siding,it is more expensive than vinyl and also <br /> ti=won't match the addition that is made from Vinyl.Mr.Neville replied that Vinyl siding even when <br /> is well installed is not lasting more that 15-20 years and Ms.Egan-Reeves added that the recent <br /> rear addition was approved because it was not seen from the street and was not part of the original <br /> house,so it was not required to match the original materials. <br /> Mr.Dubowski asked the applicant if the present siding was in bad shape,and Mr.Parry responded <br /> that it was not,but that replacing the siding would increase the house's insulation. <br /> Finally, Mr. Parry and the Commission members agreed that Mr. Parry should develop a price <br /> estimate for both vinyl siding and Hardie board and bring it to the commission at the next meeting. <br /> Mr.Neville moved,seconded by Mr.Dubowski,to table the Mr.Parry's Proposal to the next <br /> regular meeting;motion passed 7=0. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Surin2vale Ballroom Landmark Designation <br />
