LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MINUTES OF OCTOBER 9,2023 <br /> 7:00 PM <br /> Mr.Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM via an online meeting. <br /> Present:David Neville,Tom Dubowski,Duane Limpert, James Gearhart <br /> Absent:Elizabeth Kukwa, Gretchen Schuler, Sarah Egan-Reeves,Jim Morse <br /> Staff: City Planner Nahid Parsipour,Assistant Director of Law Department Bryan O'Malley <br /> Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Ms. Limpert, to excuse the absences of Mr. Morse, Ms. <br /> Kukwa,Ms. Sarah Egan-Reeves,and Ms. Schuler.The motion passed 4-0. <br /> REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Mr.Gearhart moved,seconded by Mr.Limpert,to approve the August 14,2023 Landmarks <br /> Commission minutes with the corrections discussed. The motion was approved 4-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 23-25272; Jody Chapek; 27620 Butternut Ridge Road <br /> Proposal consists of Roof Replacement Proposal with Color Change. <br /> Mr. Neville explained about proposed changes to Mr. Chapek's roofing project, such as the <br /> replacement of storm-damaged three-tab shingles with architectural shingles and a color change <br /> from light gray to green to match the trim of the house. <br /> Jody Chapek, the homeowner, explained the urgency behind the change due to roof damage, <br /> seeking guidance on acquiring the permit. <br /> Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert, to approve the certificate of <br /> Appropriateness for roof replacement proposal with color change. The motion passed 4-0. <br /> 23-25466; Valen Lako; 26971 Butternut Ridge Road <br /> Proposal consists of Roof Replacement Proposal. <br /> During this segment of the meeting, Mr. Neville addressed another agenda item related to a <br /> property located on the corner of Fitch and Butternut. He mentioned that the house in question <br /> appeared to be in rough condition, and the proposed replacement roof was essentially the same <br /> color but an architectural asphalt shingle. He noted that the condition of the existing structure <br /> underneath was not visibly apparent. <br /> Mr.Neville asked if anyone had any concerns or issues regarding this project that might necessitate <br /> involving the property owners in a meeting.
