LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MINUTES OF JUNE 10,2024 <br /> 7:00 PM <br /> Mr.Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM via an online meeting. <br /> Present:David Neville,Mark Madden,Sarah Egan-Reeves,Gretchen Schuler <br /> Absent:Elizabeth ICukwa,Tom Dubowski,James Gearhart <br /> Staff City Planner Nahid Parsipour <br /> Ms. Egan-Reeves moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler, to excuse the absences of Ms. Kukwa, <br /> Mr.Dubowski and Mr.Gearhart.The motion passed 4-0. <br /> REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Ms. Egan-Reeves moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler, to approve the February 12, 2024 <br /> Landmarks Commission minutes.The motion was approved 4-0. <br /> Mr. Madden moved, seconded by Ms. Egan-Reeves, to approve the March 11, 2024 <br /> Landmarks Commission minutes.The motion was approved 4-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 24-PLAN-73;Zoltan C.Laszlo-27554 Butternut Ridge <br /> Proposal consists of Rooftop Solar Array Installation. <br /> No representative from the project was present at the meeting. <br /> The commission discussed the appropriateness of installing solar panels on historic houses, <br /> considering the potential impact on the historical character of the district.Visibility concerns were <br /> raised as the proposed solar array would be highly visible from the street. The commission also <br /> discussed the availability of modem,less obtrusive solar products as possible alternatives. They <br /> compared the proposal with other installations within the district, noting that such installations <br /> were typically in less visible locations. <br /> Members discussed the guidelines for energy-saving structures and noted that previous <br /> installations in the district were less conspicuous.Mr.Neville and Mr.Madden expressed that the <br /> proposal did not align with the district's historical preservation standards due to its conspicuous <br /> nature. • <br /> The absence of the representative was also noted, as it prevented direct discussion of specific <br /> questions or concerns with the applicants. <br /> 1 <br />
