Mr. O'Malley said will provide an exemption from the City's current sign code, without an agreement
between the City and the artist,or the property owner and the City. He cited code 116307B11.
North Olmsted Arts Commission members voted, after a motion from Keith Behrendt and a second from
Mark Mallett,to endorse the artwork between muralist Arlin Graff and the Rooney Cleaning Company
(Terry Rooney).
Enhanced Communication—To better improve communication,Chairman Boulton asked Commission
members to provide their cell phone numbers so that he will have the ability to send them texts in
addition to emails.
A Permanent Space--Chairman Boulton said one of his long-term goals is to find a permanent space for
the North Olmsted Arts Commission. This led Keith Behrendt to share that he recently met with Director
of Economic and Community Development Max Upton to discuss that very issue. Mr. Upton suggested
Great Northern Mall as a possibility. The mall has space available mixed use, which could potentially be
used as a gallery, meeting spaces,or a concert space in the future.
Bay Arts--Chairman Boulton shared that Nancy Heaton, the Executive Director of Bay Arts, has
extended an invitation to Commission members to tour their facility.
The next meeting of the North Olmsted Arts Commission will take place on Tuesday,October 15,2024 at
6:30 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
