Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedic NTN Testing <br /> The Commission was presented with a memo from Director Scofield to start entry level <br /> Firefighter/Paramedic testing. Director Scofield says this request is due to a trickle-down effect. We <br /> are hiring to fill the Chief position and have one internal candidate for that. We also have a Captain <br /> who's retiring, and a firefighter/paramedic who is retiring, and at least one other retiree. She <br /> expresses that she would like to see minimal down time as far as hiring. All lists are expired for <br /> entry level. O'Malley clarifies the rules for promotional and entry level and says the Commission <br /> can anticipate an upcoming test and get the weights and passing score approved now and then <br /> complete a calendar and posting etc. for next meeting. Direcor Scofield says she would like to get <br /> the entry level testing going and notify NTN as soon as possible. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to move forward with the <br /> Firefighter/Paramedic testing. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Discussion commences regarding the weights and passing scores. Commissioner Cotofan asks <br /> about LCCC having the agility testing open. Secretary Davenport added that they do not have <br /> testing at that location so it will stay at Tri-C and Stark State. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to carry over the passing <br /> score of 70%for each section and the weights of each section of the written to be 25%. The <br /> Motion passed unanimously <br /> Fire Captain promotional Testing Process <br /> Commissioner Cotofan asks about the 2019 testing of the Captain for Fire; Director Kidd confirms <br /> that 2019 was the last test for Captains.Assistant Director O'Malley asks commission if the <br /> reference material should come from the Public Director of Safety, the Chief and the testing <br /> company. The Commission agrees that the reference material is good, coming from the Chief,the <br /> testing agency and the Director. Commissioner Cotofan asks about the weights changing from <br /> 60/40 and'passing score of 70%, conversation continued about the passing score being 75% at one <br /> time and had some problems with it. Director Scofield and Director Kidd agree that 70% is good. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to move forward with the <br /> Fire Captain's Promotional testing to move forward and keep the passing score of 70% and the <br /> weights to stay at individual 60% and written 40%. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Fire Lieutenant Promotional Testing Process <br /> Commissioner Cotofan asked about the weights for this testing. Director Kidd and Director Scofield <br /> both expressed that the weights and passing score in the previous testing has done well and <br /> recommended it stay 70%passing score, 40%written and 60% individual assessment. Clancy will <br /> do the written and PRADCO will do the individual assessments. <br />
