V. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Police Lateral Transfer Eligible List <br /> Commission was asked by Public Safety Director Scofield to start anew Police Lateral Transfer <br /> list. <br /> Commissioner Cotofan asked how many names are on the current Police Lateral List,Director Kidd <br /> replied that there are two candidates on the list and that is why Director Scofield is asking for a.riew <br /> list. Commissioner Cotofan added that he was not sure we needed a new one,Director Kidd added <br /> that there will be at least one resignation coming up and.a retirement,so we are in need of at least <br /> two new officers. The entry level is good until May but the Lateral is limited to two and they <br /> interviewed both and they were not good candidates. <br /> Commissioner Cotofan asked how much this will be costing the City,he feels like the Lateral lists <br /> are running,,dry.. The Civil Service Secretary confirmed it costs.the City $600 for the advertisement <br /> and.that's all The past and current lists are small.There will be 3 spots open;two retirements and 1 <br /> resignation. <br /> The calendar was presented to the Commission.The advertisement for Later will go out January 4, <br /> 2026, applications will be available at City Hall and NOPD on January. 9,2026,deadline to apply <br /> will be February 6, 2026, and the list will be certified at the February 23,2026 meeting. <br /> Commissioner Cotofan asked how many hires would come off the lateral list.Director-Kidd added <br /> she wasn't,sure but>usually they alternate the hiring between the lateral and entry level lists.
