?. <br />NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />JULY 9th 1987 Meeting <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Chairperson SHARON FLEMING, City Council Represent- <br />ative BILL LACKEY, JOE LANG, BOB PERRY, LOIS VAN AUKEN, <br />RUSS BIERMAN, AND NIKE PATTON. <br />The Minutes for the May N.O.L.C. meeting were <br />read and approved by the membership. ( There was no June <br />Meeting) <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:09pm by Chair- <br />person SHARON FLEMING. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />Mr. and Nrs Helms attended the meeting. The Helms' <br />are the current owners of the house located at 24100 Mastick <br />Road. The Helms attended the meeting in order to receive <br />a N.O.L.C. plaque for their home. The Helms conducted some <br />rather extensive research on thier property and provided <br />the Commission with copies of the research materials, which <br />included Tax Records, deeds, photographs and other relevant <br />informationo The circa date on the home is 1875. <br />Mr. JOE LANG, a member fo the N.O.L.C was also <br />presented with a N.O.L.C. Plaque for the Barn located at <br />25961 Kennedy Ridge Road. The circa date on the Barn is <br />1860. <br />The Chairperson declared a brief recess and at <br />which time the Helms left the Meeting. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />1)The Butternut Road Historic District Signs. <br />Chairperson SHARON FLEMING reported that the signs are not <br />completed as of the date of this meeting. She did have <br />an opportunity to see the "work in progress" and reported <br />that the signs look beautiful. The signs should be ready <br />sometime in August and whe completed the N.O. Service Depart- <br />ment will "put the signs up". <br />2) The 1987 Homecoming. <br />Several ideas were discussed about the 1987 Homecoming. <br />After some dis_cussion it was generally agreed that the N.O.L.C. <br />would not.participate in the Homecoming.acti-yities; however. <br />it was genera]_ly agreed that some plans for 1988 .should <br />be a'work:ed out" in the coming year. <br />NEW BiJ?INSESS. <br />Z).Pla,que Pres.entatibn (See above) , <br />2') CeZebration of tlie errection of the Butterr_ut <br />Ridge Historic District Sighs. <br />A group of Butternut Ridge Road Resident7s contacted SHARON <br />FLEMING,. about having a party to commemcSYate,the Declaration <br />of the Butternut Ridge..Road Historic District. The Commxssion <br />generally agreed that plans would be formulated once=the, <br />signs have been errected. -1- <br />
