y CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - NOVEMBER 18, 1987 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Britton called the meeting to order at 5:10 p,m. <br />Fresent: J. Britton and B. Zergott <br />Mrs. Case arrived at 5:20 p.m. <br />Absent: D. Pattison <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes of October 21, 1987, were corrected undez item 3, line 10 to <br />insert the work "brown" before anodi,ze:d. Should read "....Pella thermopanes <br />with brown anodized frames..e" J. Britton moved to accept the minutes of <br />October 21, 1987 as corrected, seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimousl_y approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />1) First Nationwide Bank, 4701 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Signs approved as presented with building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />No items. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Great Northern Shopping Center, Plaza South <br />Proposal to change color on one building and definition of materials <br />used on entire building. <br />Heard by Planning Commission October 27, 1987. <br />Mr. Carlisle, Biskind Development Comnany, presented the pronosal to <br />change the color of the raspberry portion of the plaza to a beige color <br />(Glidden 78-75), the accent color will be a lighter beige (Glidden 70-17), <br />and the pipe columns will be changed to a darker beige (Glidden 78-51); <br />the dark green trim and red coping will remain. He stated that after <br />analyzing the nlaza, they determined that the raspberry building was not <br />in keeping with the other colors which are earth tones, especially since <br />the raspberry was adjacent to a residential area. The rear wall T•TZs <br />repaired and subseauently repainted in the beige. NIr. Britton stated <br />that many of the mirrors were broken and suggested that they replace <br />these with a mirror b acked lexan. Mr. Carlisle advised that they are <br />getting prices on various materials and will check into the lexan. Thev <br />normally do not have prob lems with vandalism, and if this becomes an <br />on going problem, they are going to replace the mirrors in some manner. <br />J. Britton moved to accept the new nainting scheme as presented, seconded <br />by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved. In reference to the material <br />used on the entire building, Mr..Carlisle stated that in the minutes of <br />the_initial. apnroval of Plaza South it was stated that the material to be <br />used was Dryvit. He thought that he had stipulated a dryvit-like material <br />and the actual material used was called Sure-Coat (the name of which has
