NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />FebruarY 8, 1988 <br />/J O <br />or <br />? <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mike Patton, Chairperson, Lois Van Auken, Gloria <br />Sell, Russ Bierman, Joe Lang. <br />The Meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm by the Chairperson. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />LI a 1 1 <br />Lois Van Auken reported that the repairs to the roof of <br />Old Town Hall has been repaired. She also reported that <br />the asbestos removal has been completed. New furnace pipes <br />will be installed but the old radiators will be retained. <br />Bids for the new furnace and for new restrooms will be received <br />by March 13, 1988. There is approximately $5,000.00 left <br />in th.e budget for Old Town Hall repairs. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />?? ? HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH <br />? ay is National Historic Preservation month. The N.O.L.C. <br />is planning to have an open house.at Old Town Hall followed <br />by a bus tour of the significant Historic Homes in North <br />Olmsted. <br />HOMECOMING <br />-- The N.O.LC. s,rill -look- i.nto. the possibli,ty of obtaining some <br />space in the North Olmsted Schools Terit. <br />NEW MEMBERSHIP <br />Due to a vacancy in the N.O.L.C. a spot on the Commission <br />is open. It was suggested that Leah K41?4CKi be referred <br />to the Mayor's office for possible membership. Joe Lang <br />was to contact Ms. Karulich. <br />Historic District Sians <br />It was brought to the attention of the N.O.L.C. that the <br />letters on the Historic District signs are hard to read. <br />The blue lettering is difficult to read. Lois Van-'Auke.n'=--_: <br />moved that " The N.O.L.C. look into changing the color of <br />the printing on the Historic Distric District signs", <br />the motion was seconded by Gloria Sell and the Commission <br />voted unanimously in favor of the motion. <br />Guest to the Meetincf <br />Mark Rod#riguez attended the NOLC meeting. He recently <br />moved into the house at 26747 Butternut Ridge. The house <br />is known as the Silk House, due to the former owner's Earl <br />and Pearl Silk. Mr. Roderiquez inquired about researching <br />his house. Gloria Sell offered to help provide him with <br />information about researching the tax records in order to <br />establish the construction date of the house. <br />r] <br />d <br />IaAy ?S-- <br />Z- t/em, - <br />Upon a proper Motion to end the meeting the Chairman <br />called the meeting to close at 9:10 pm.
