i <br />k ' . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD <br />MINUTES - MAY 20, 1992 <br />I.. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />Present: T. Gallagher and B. Zergott <br />Absent: Y. Sohn. <br />Also Present: Chief Building Inspector_Sanker, City Forester Wendell, and Clerk <br />of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of April 22, 1992 were deferred. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />1) Pic Way Shoes, 27650 Lorain Road. <br />Existing wall sign. <br />J. Helmann, Pic Way Shoes, presented a color rendering and advised that the <br />sign company presented a rendering of the sign showing the background as brown <br />rather than yellow. This change was done to co-ordinate a11 the signs on the <br />site with the interior decor which is now white, yellow, and orange. In answer <br />to Mr. Zergott's question, Mr. Helmann ad.vised that the cabi.net and pole of the <br />pole sign was yellow and had been approved with yellow. Mr. Zergott stated tha.t <br />he would prefer that the signs match. T. Gallagher moved to recommend that the <br />pole sign match the pylon sign and be accepted as presented,. seconded by B. <br />Zergott, and tmanimously approved. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />No items. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Habitat, 4687 Great Northern Boulevard. <br />Proposal for exterior renovation to a unit in an existing shopping center. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals an April 1, 1992. <br />Referred by Planning Commission on May 12, 1992. <br />Representative not present, will be heard later. <br />2) Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain road <br />Proposal to construct picnic pavilion on church property. <br />Referred by Planning Commission on May 4, 1992. <br />Mr. Zarzycki, architect, presented a colored site plan and explained that this <br />was to be an open pavilion at the rear of the site adjacent 'to the Metro Parks. <br />The character of the building is reflective of the church in that they are using <br />the same forms, shapes, and materials. The pavilion will be slightly below grade <br />and the landscaping will be terraced down to it. He explained that this will be <br />behind the house which the church has recently acquirede The materials will be <br />identical to those on the church, Belden Beaver Brick and Timberline Burnt <br />Sienna shingles on the roof. There will be some interior lighting and a fire <br />place on the east wall, there might be some decorative exterior post lights, but <br />similar to what is around the church, but no additional high pressure lighting <br />is planneda The land has been graded for the proposed retention system. <br />1
