ROLL CALL: <br />Chairinan Gorris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: D. Alston, P. Miller, L. Orlowski, I{. O'Rourke, R. Tallon, J. Thomas, and <br />B. Gorris. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law J. Dubelko, City Engineer P. Deichmann, Assistant City E Engineer <br />Grriffith, Building Commissioner Conway, and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />U. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Deferred until the next regular meeting. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: . <br />Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Property located on Brookpark Road, east of the Westbury Apartments <br />and west of Colebrook aud Claresliire condominiwns. . <br />Heard by Architectural Review Board and Plauuung Coiumission on Apri126, 1994. <br />Mr. Newberry introduced Mr. R. Bray, real estate manager for Wal Mart, and Mr. Herbsman, <br />architect, who presented revised plans. He explained that the elevations have been changed to <br />include brick in combination with integral block units on the building. The block will be used on <br />the bottom of the walls up to 3 or 4 feet above the sidewalk with brick above that with brick <br />pylons at the entrance. The upper portion over the entrance 1(beneath the sign) will be a Dryvit <br />material. The brick will wrap around the entire north elevation and will go to the first control joint <br />in the wallon the south elevation. He presented the material board for the file which showed; <br />Mountain Shadow Velour Modular brick; Metal Coping - painted SW2019 or "June Bug"; the <br />Upper Field - split face CMU coated Thoro "Classic Silk"; Accent Bands - smooth face CMIJ <br />integral color Metromont Materials #106, "Cobblestone" and Smooth face CMLT integral color <br />Metromont Materials #Ir 1B "Antique White"; Lower Field (Wainscot)-split-face CMIJ integral <br />color Metromont Materials #Ir16B "Light Dusty Rose"; Sign Band - Exterior Insulation Finish <br />System to match SW 2019 "June Bug"; Canopy - Exterior Insulation Finish System Thoro <br />"Canyon Beige"; Aluminum Store Front " Bronze Anodized" and the Steel Picket Fence - <br />Ameristar Aegis-Geneses `Black". Another color board showed the Upper Field - Split-face <br />CMU Coated Thoro "Classic Silk"; Accent Band -"Smooth face CMU coated to match SW2017 <br />"Victoria Rose"; Lower:Field - Split-face CM[J Coated Thoro -"Smoky Taupe" with the lower <br />field to be Modular Brick Veneer "Shadow Mountain Smooth" blend (it was not clear on which <br />elevation these materials were to be used). Mr. Sohn, of the Architectural Review Board, had <br />reviewed a copy the revised elevation and commented as follows. "'The middle portion where <br />"NVaI Mart" sign is located, should be raised up to the same height of the rest of the walls, West <br />Elevation./ The feature walls at two entrances should be raised up 4 feet, 0 inches ar higher <br />accordingly./ If these changes (or modifications) are made, I would accept the elevations dated <br />5/2/94". Mr. Gorris thought perhaps the middle portion was actually as high as the walls and this
