Corbin, 29240 Lorain Road.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 530 square foot variance for area and 3 foot height variance
to construct a detached garage. Request 5 foot rear yard setback variance and varia.nce for lack of a
driveway (none shown on plans). Violation of Ord. 90-125, Sections 1135.02(c)(1); 1135.02(c)(2)
and 1161.11(3).
Chainnan Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr.
Corbin who explained that he had no garage at present but there is a gravel driveway (not shown on
plans) going about half way back, which will have to be extended. The garage will be used strictly for
storage and tenant parking. Mr. Maloney questioned why the garage was only to be 5 feet off the rear
line, which might be too close to the family room of the home in the rear. Mr. Corbin agreed to
putting it 10 feet away, which meets code: Mr. Conway clarified that the existing drive could stay
gravel, but the new portion would have to be paved. J. Maloney moved to grant the request of
Robert M. Corbin, 29240 Lorain Road, for a 530 square foot variance for area and a 3 foot height
variance to construct a detached garage. Also to grant a variance to use gravel on the extension of
the drive for a period of one year from the date of the start of construction.
