CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - DECEMBER 3, 1986 <br />Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, J. Helon, and C. Remmel <br />Absent: R. Gomersall and B. Grace <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau and Clerk of Commissions B. Oring <br />Correction of minutes of November 12, 1986: item number 4, attorney's name <br />should be Wall, also on page 3, second line insert lose in blank sp ace; <br />on page 4, item 7, motion was seconded b.y Mr. Grace. R. Bugala moved to <br />accept the minutes as amended for the November 12, 1986 meeting, seconded <br />by J. Helon, and unanimously approved. <br />l. John Romancik, 4079 Root Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 3° variance for distance between <br />house and garage. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-C. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Romancik and J. Spanski, contractor. Board had viewed <br />the premises and had no problems with the request. C. Remmel moved to grant <br />the variance as requested for Mr. Romancik, seconded by R. Bugala, and <br />unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />2. Suburban Glass and Tire, Inc, 23672 Lorain Road <br />Request special permit to refurbish exterior of non-conforming building. <br />Special permission required by Ord. 62-33, Section-1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to W. Purper, Jr. who explained that they will be renovating-the <br />exterior and the interior of the building. C. Remmel moved to grant the <br />special permit as- requested by Suburban Glass and Tire, seconded by R. Bugala, <br />and unanimously approved. Special permit granted. Law Director Gareau <br />advised that the special permit does not go into effect for 30 days. <br />3. Andrew N. Mandilakis, 25755 Butternut Ridge Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 48 sq. ft. variance for overhang on <br />shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D. (Variance for location of <br />shed granted 10/1/86) (Variance for size of shed granted 11/12/86) <br />Chairmau Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Mandilakis who explained that he wanted a 4 foot by 12 foot <br />overhang on the shed (variance granted previously. for shed) in order to utilize <br />more of the lumber from the kit he bought. He would like to put his log <br />splitter under the overhang. Mr. Bugala stated that he sees no reason to ex- <br />pand on the variance that was granted. R. Bugaia moved to approve the request '- <br />for the 48 square foot variance for overhang on the shed located at 25755 <br />Butternut Ridge Road at the home of Andrew N. Mandilakis, seconded by C. Remmel. <br />Roll call on motion: Bugala, Remmel, and Helon, No. Motibn failed to pass. <br />Variance denied. Mr. Mandilakis objected because he believed that the Board <br />had given him the impression that they would be in favor of the variance. <br />R. Bugala moved to excuse the absence of Mr. Gomersall and Mr. Grace, seconded <br />byAf?l, and&animously appro?ted.
