CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
,I
PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING
MiNUTES - APRIL 29 m 1986
I. ROLL CALL:
Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Present: R. Bierman, T. Morgan, J. Burns, and E. Traczyk
Absent: J. Brown, B. Gorris, and J. Wixted.
Also Present: Building Commissioner S. Spino and Assistant Law Director
J. Dubelko
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
The Minutes of April 22, 1986 were deferred.
III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REOUESTS:
Chairman Burns requested a motion to amend the agenda in order to discuss the preliminary parking plans for the Great Northern Mall expansion. Mr.
Carlisle of Biskind Development stated that he would discuss the proposal
individually with the members who were not present. They are.not requesting
approval at this time, the final plans will be presented later. R. Bierman
moved to amend the agenda to look at the plans tonight, seconded by T.
P4organ, and unanimously approved.
1) Rad Air Systems Corp, 24260 Lorain Road.
Exterior alteration of existing building. (Not heard at the meeting of
April 22, 1986 - no representative present).
Mr. Bird of Rad Air stated that the color of the building will be a
much mellower yellow color than the colored rendering and presented a
color sample of the correct color. This is basically an exterior alter-
ation: flower boxes will be installed on the front of the building and
an additional garage door will be added on the side of the building and
new, matching doors will replace the existing ones. Mr. Bierman sug-
gested that the garage doors match the b uilding instead of-being darker.
Mr. Bird would like some type contrast on the doors rather than the en-
tire building being the same color. The Architectural Board of Review
had approved that building plans and the signs as submitted. The Safet_y
Department had no objection to the plans as submitted, b ut questioned
if the gravel area in the rear was to park tractor trailers and advised
that, if so, there will be complaints. Mr. Bird explained that they did
park some trailers on the rear (no tractors), and that they plan to
upgrade the rear property in the future. They will also be upgrading
the side of the property- when the Expresso proposal is built. He further
? explained that the front of the building will be black topped and will be
used as a drop off area. J. Burns moved to approve Rad Air Systems exter-
ior alteration of the existing building as_submitted, seconded by E.
Traczyk, and unanimously approved.
