LANll1YIARKS COMifISSION <br />ivlEE'1'I1vG OF JAIvUARY 19, 1984 <br />Yresent: Chairman Betty Lord, rlarlene Urzechowski, Uloria Sell, Robert <br />Hunter, Lois Van Auken, Yvonne Yetrigac, Julia Brown <br />Meeting was calleci to order by Chairman Betty Lord at 8:10 p.m. <br />iqinutes of the Novernber 1'/, 1983, meeting were approved as submittea. <br />Corresponnence: Council minutes, letter of resignation f rom Bale VJunderle, <br />anci int'ormation f'rom i?iacleline Brookshire regarding program schedulea t'or <br />5aturd.ay, January 21, 9 to 3 at the Western Reserve Historical Society on <br />the history of' Ureater Cleveland. '1'his could be a very worthwhile program <br />if any mernber could attencl on such short notice. <br />The re5ignation of llale Wunderle was discusseci at great length. This is <br />a great loss to the commission. Ivlr. Hunter will contact Mr. Wunderle to <br />see if' he might reconsiaer. Other prospective members to be contacted <br />are Robert Parry, Dewey Limpert, llwayne Woerpel. Bev Ingram may also <br />know of a party who may be interesteci in serving on this commission. <br />A note of thanks will be sent to both llale Wunderle and Dwayne tidoerpel <br />f'or their deciicated service. <br />Robert Hunter presented the budget items and the proposed budget for 1984 <br />was finalized. Iviotion was made by Lois Van Auken, secondect by Robert <br />Hunter that the proposed 1984 budget t'or the Landmarks Comrnission of <br />$3,010.00 be presented to city council, and unanimously approved. (Copy <br />of proposed budget attached). <br />Betty Lord advised preliminary plans and cost estimate of Town Hall <br />rehabilitation have been received. Motion was made by Julia Brown, <br />seconded by Gloria Sell that an addendum to the budget be subrnitted <br />to council for the sum of $10,000.00 which is Phase I of the Town Hall <br />Restoration Program. D2otion was unanimously approved. (Addendum attached). <br />Betty Lord appointed Julia Brown and Marlene Orzechowski to prepare the <br />1983 annual report. <br />Announcements: 1. Yvonne Petrigac reported out on the plans for the <br />war memorial at North Olmsted Park, 2. Marlene Orzechowski advised she <br />had been contacted by Mary Slama and Ken Meus that they have items for <br />the archives, 3. Gloria Sell presented information she received from <br />the Cleveland Landmarks Commission on historic districts. <br />The matter of election of officers and future direction of the Landmarks <br />Commission was postponed until later. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 11:05 p.m. <br />Julia K.
