?
.?
.-- . a
CITY OI' NORTH OLMSTED
BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS
MINUTES - MAY 24, 1984
Prior to the meeting, Building Commissioner Gundy made the following
notations pertaining to the 1983 One and Two Family Dwelling Codes:
Section R906.1 on page 97 is out of sequence, and should be on page
104. Section 809.01 which is on page 104, should be on page 97. Also
Mr. Gundy would like the Board to consider deleting Ord. 75-116, per-
taining to type "A" flues, from the Codes.
I. ROLL CALL:
Vice Chairman Patton called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m.
Present: J. Kazak, J. Patton, and R. Puzzitiello
Also Present; Building Commissioner E. Gundy (left for another meeting)
and Recording Secretary B. Oring.
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
R. Puzzitiello moved to accept the Minutes of February 23, 1984 as
presented, seconded by J. Patton, and unanimously approved.
III. NEW BUSINESS:
1) Talan Machine and Tool Shop, property west of 31376 Lorain Rd.
Exposed exterior wall of masonry construction above grade shall be
faced with brick, stone, or other material hereafter approved by
the Building Code Board of Appeals.
Vice Chairman Patton administered the oath to 14r. Talan who explained
that he wants to use the General Clay 8" split-block on three sides of
the building. He is requesting to be allowed to use the standard con-
crete block on the rear of the building, since he will probably be
adding to the building within three years. Mr. Kazak is concerned
that addition might never be constructed and this would be a perma-
nent 26' by 12' section of concrete block. It would only cost about
$500.00 more to use the split block. J. Kazak moved to deny using
the concrete block on the rear wall, but to approve the 8" split block
for the entire building, seconded by J. Patton, and unanimously approved.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
Discussion of Building Codes.
Board discussed includin.g split block as an approved masonry material.
They have frequently approved its use on an individual basis. R.
Puzzitiello moved to amend Section 1569.07 to reard "Exposed exterior
