?
4
CITX OF NORTH OLMSTED
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW
MINUTES - FEBRUARY 22, 1984
I. ROLL CALL:
Acting Chairman Ebin called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.
Present: J. Cavaluchi and S. Ebin
Absent: M, Case and R. Mongello
Also Present; B. Oring, Recording Secretary
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
The Minutes of December 21, 1983 were corrected on Page 2, second line, .
paragraph (a) to read 4" by 8". S. Ebin moved that the Minutes be accepted
as corrected, seconded by J. Cavaluchi, and unanimously approved.
S. Ebin moved to approve the Minutes of the special meeting of February 2,
1984 as presented, seconded by J. Cavaluchi, and unanimously approved.
III. SIGNS:
No items.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
(a) Mongello and Assoc. Office Building, north of the northeast corner of
the Lorain/Clague intersection.
Revised plans for exterior of office building originally approved Oct.
19, 1983.
Mr. K. Leo from Mongello and Associates explained that they were sub-
mitting two proposals for changes to the exterior of the proposed of-
fice building showing either standard or hipped gables. Both proposals
include: arched windows with vertical brick trim, second floor overhang
(conference room to be enlarged); south and east elevations will be
sided with horizontal cedar siding; north elevation will be sided with
cedar plyraood, stone faced plywood spandrels,., and brick section with
a round window; mechanical units will be relocated to patio in rear
(were on roof); roof will be flat on one section. Mr. Ebin prefers
the original pxoposal, stating that this one has a mish-mash of mater-
ials and that the original had more over--all architectural appeal. He
suggested that curbing or landscaping be brought out to protect the
overhang from tall vehicles. Mr. Cavaluchi stated that the first proposal
seemed somewhat cold, and he believes that since Mr. Mongello will be
moving into this office, he would want it to be a show place. J. Cava-
luclii. moved to approve either of the two revised plans as resubmitted,
seconded by S. Ebin,. Roll call on motion: J. Cavaluchi, Aye. S. Ebin,
Nay. Mr. Ebin and Mr. Cavaluchi are concerned about how split vote can
be resolved, matter will be turned over to Building Commissioner Gundy
to decide.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
No items
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Meeting was adjourned at 4:55 p.m.
S. Ebin, Acting Chairman B, Oring, Recording Secretary
