MINUZ'ES OF LANlli-IARKS C01,+ILAISSI0N <br />i4EETINU OF' FEBRUARY 17, 1983 <br />Yresent: Chairirian Betty Lord, Inarlene Orzechowski, Robert Hunter, llale <br />Wunderle, llwayne Woerpel, Julia Brown <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman Betty Lord at 8:05 p.m. "•1inutes' <br />if the Landmarks meeting of January 20, 1983, were approved, - <br />Corresponclence: Preservation News, National Trust's pamphlet ",Surplus <br />Schools", Letter from Asst. Chief Richard Limpert advising the thirty <br />minute film on North Olmsteci was .printed by AMATUR in 1936. <br />Budget: Dwayne Woerpel reported budget will be voted on by March 31. <br />Site Markers: Dale Wunderle reported out on his inspection of the site <br />markers, and his contact with the Ohio Historical Society. After discussion <br />motion was made by Marlene Orzechowski that ;rIr. Zlunderle oe given permission <br />to take the Parker Ranch site marker to Gsf?Afor the purpose of having <br />it refinished free of charge. Service Department personnel to remove marker <br />and deliver it to i+ir. Wunderle's residence at 5772 Porter Road as he will <br />have to make a frame for it. ivIotion was seconded by Robert Hunter and <br />unanimously approved. Mr. Wunderle, with assistance from other members of <br />the commission wi11 clean the remaining markers. <br />Mr. Idunderle also reported on his attendance at the Friends of the Cleveland <br />Landmarks luncheon on January 31. Reimbursement of v8,50 wi11 oe requested. <br />Slide Presentation: Mr. Hunter reported on his recent slide presentation <br />at John 'r',nox Church. Was well receivea. Other presentations are planned. <br />i.B.it.P.: Research has not been cornpleted on the six ouildings beins con- <br />sidered. i4r. Wunderle would also like to assist in Lhe research. <br />Cindy Leise of the Chr.onicle Telegram has contacted Schmiecilin t'or an <br />interview; she is also interested in doino a feature story on landmarks . <br />Town Hall: Betty Lord has been requested to attend a meeting 6•Jednesday, <br />February 23rd. Portion of basement area at Town Hall could possibly be <br />used for food storage. This food supply is presently beinc., storect in -the <br />basement ot' the Department of Human Resources, i•,Iembers felt this was good <br />use ot' Town Hall space. <br />More discussion f'ollowed on Town Hall rehabilitation and usage. Letter <br />will be sent to various architects who rnay oe interested in this rehadili- <br />tation program and re.questing a resume. <br />llate of April 14, 198:3, 7:30 p.m. has been selected t'or a brainstorming <br />session at Town Hall. Letters will be sent out as soon as possible to <br />various organizations ancl concerned citizens. <br />This is a cooperative venture of the Landmarks Commission and the Long <br />Ranoe Ylanning Committee of city council. <br />Betty.
