r <br />?g <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS <br />MINUTES - JANUARY•27, 1983 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Schulz called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. <br />Present: J. Kozak, R. Puzzitiello, and B. Schulz <br />Absent: R. Tallon and J. Patton <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy and Recording <br />Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />In the Minutes of July 22, 1982 the motion on page 1,._item 2, <br />should be amended to read "...to approve the Svec split block <br />or equal..." The Minutes of July 22, 1982 were approved as <br />amended. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Election of Officers: <br />Mr. B. Schulz was unanimously elected Chairman. <br />Mr. R. Puzzitiello was unanimously elected Vice Chairman. <br />Mr. J. Kazak was unanimously elected Secretary. <br />Mr. Kazak will prepare the annual report. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Building Commissioner Gundy advised the Board that the amend- <br />ments to the Building Code which had been previously recommended <br />have been approved by Council and will be in effect the first <br />part of Februaryo <br />Discussion of 1982 amendments: <br />The Board agreed that most of the 1980 amendments were merely <br />changes in wording and punctuation. It was also pointed out <br />that they include the use of treated wood for foundations which <br />have previously been approved by this Board. Section M-1411, <br />Page 12: Unvented Heaters which pertains to the oxygen de- <br />pletion sensors on unvented kerosene heaters should be studied <br />since this could be dangerous. Mr. Gundy will get additiondl <br />information from;the manufacturers. <br />New 1983 codes will be out shortly. Mr. Gundy is ordering <br />them and will be distributing them to the members for study <br />when they are received. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. <br />B. Schulz, Chairman B.
