I,etter to be Vrritten to editor requesting <br />correc-tionm 9s it reads one -uould get -the impression Birch School wa.s the only school <br />reques-ted to participa-te in the City Seal Search. <br />Letter received from Don Copeland of the Departmen-t of Human Resolarces., re Block <br />Grant grogram. <br />Letter from Planning. Commission re Frostville Landmark designation. <br />Letter from Ray Carlson of Ohio Dep-t, of HUD: <br />Old Business : Press coverage tras very good regarding Tozan Iiall,dedication and tree <br />lighting ceremony last month. <br />Betty announced that the 3 site markers have been received by the City. Hopefu7ly <br />someone from Lan=3.marks can be present t-rhen -these are erected by the Servi.ce Depa,rtmn-t. <br />P1a21ni n,g Commission has okayed I'rostville as a Landmark and fUrther contact wi11 <br />be made with A1ma Gifford of the Historical Society, Mike Gareau will be con-tacted re- <br />garding special wordislg in the ordinance regarding external changes. <br />Regarding the sta.tus of the Iandmark sign, Steve_ Schec-ter annoUnced Hr. Pepple 106,77c) <br />had finished a sign, but wa.s not sa-tisfied with it. He has hopes of having a comple-ted <br />sign in two weeks. <br />Betty I,ord reported on the km-es house (vacant, in bad condition bu-t of historic <br />lue). Discussion followed as to what coUrse we sholald follow. <br />New Business : It was annoUnced -that t4axy Slama is at-tempting to have Town Ha11 placed <br />in the National Rega-ster. Anyone having any information that might be helpful Sn this <br />endeavor should ge-t it to her or 3et-ty I,ord. <br />Pat Patton was requested -to work on the application for Comtmunity Development <br />Block Grant money as he did last year. <br />Vonnie Petrigac is -to check with the administration regarding use of the City <br />Seal. The Police Dept. wi11 not be implementing this program at the present time due <br />to a large supply of shields they have on hand. <br />"Information has been received from Hudson and Berea regarding -their plaquing <br />program which wi11 be helpf.i.]_ to us., and from Pdationa.l Trust. N?arlene is a7aa.iting the <br />information she has requested from other sources. <br />A motion was made by 11a.mie klbright that we apply for membership in the National <br />Trust ior Historic Preservation (#15,00), seconded by Pat Pa-tton' and unanimously apgroved. <br />After discussion, it was established -that ?.?2500.00 would be requested as our minirmzm <br />budget for 1979. Vonnie Petrigac to take this up with the Budget Committee. <br />Betty Lord asked for assis-tance in se-t-ting for-th 1. criteria - 2. application - <br />and 3. cover let-ter ior our own plaquing program.
