ROLL CALL: Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, W. Ohman, D. Ryan, and B. Gorris. <br />Absent: J. Roberts, J. Brown, and J. Prokasy. <br />Also present: Buil ding Commissioner Gtmdy, Assistant City Engineer <br />D. McDermott, Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />Law Director M. Gareau arrived at 8:40 p.m. <br />IIl REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes of August-28, 1979, correction on page 3, second paragraph <br />fifth line down should read 30 feet wide and about 216 fee.t long. - <br />Also, delete the first line of Item IX. D. Ryan moved to accept the <br />minutes of August 28, 1979 as corrected, seconded by W. Ohman, and <br />imanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(a) Signs: <br />Sherwin Williams, 4630 Great Northern Blvd. Facia Sign. Approved <br />by Board of Zoning Appeals Sep tember_5, 1979 and referred from the <br />Architectural Board of Review Meeting of August 20, 1979. . <br />B. Gorris moved to approve the She nain Williams sign as p resented, <br />seconded _by W._ Ohman, and unanimously approved. __ <br />(b) Columbia Village Apartments, Lorain and Columbia Roads. This is <br />an amended request for Phase II which had been approved orginally <br />for a six story apartmen•t building,and 197 garden type apartments. <br />The amended plan is for 96 townhouse units to be sold as condominiums. <br />The amended plan was introduced at the Planning Commission Meeting of <br />July 10, 1970, and at that meeting the Board requested that more <br />detailed plans, inclu ding landscaping, parking, lighting and archi- <br />tectural plans be submitted to Elanning Commission. Mr. Lefkowitz, <br />Mr. Bernstein9 the Architect, and Mr. Kanareff, the Engineer, <br />explained_the planso After a very lengthy discussion of traffic <br />flow, parking, grading, landscaping, and lighting, the Board decided <br />that since this plan is totally different from the orginal Phase 2 <br />plans, that these plans should be reviewed by the Architectural <br />Board of Review. D. Ryan moved to refer the Columbia Village Apart- <br />ments, Phase 2 plans to the Architectural Board of Review, seconded <br />by B. Gorris, and unanimously approve d. <br />Jkl
