Lois Van <br />Auken was sworn ir_ by Ki.ke Gareau a.s a member of the Iandmarlcs Commission. <br />The first portion of the meeting tras devoted to plarpose9 and clarificati.on <br />of Drocedures to be f'ollotired by all involved in the LandMa.rks Commission and its <br />program? Vrith Law Director Ctareau answering questionse <br />P'larler_e Orzechowslci moved that the minutes of the March 16 meeting be <br />approved as mailed, seconded by Lois Van Auken. <br />Regarding the Land.narks Comission application to the Community Development <br />Block Grant9 new guid.elines have come in and Pat Patton is to check about resubmitting <br />our application. . <br />Vonnie Petrigac reported Council had approved our budget of `;'•1965 000. <br />Chairman Bettv Lord renorted att.endance at the riarch 22nd meeting at the <br />0. Zibrary' sponsored b,y the I:istorical Sxiet,y%was ver5='%Te71 atteiided (ahout <br />100 interested Dersons) and several people from ot-her cornvnities approached her <br />ex-r?ressinr, thei-r in.teY9est in establishing a sit°dla.r graup' such as oUr Landmaxks <br />Commission, in their respective camnnuzi-ties. <br />Regarding ou•r Seal Contest, I-larlene Or<,echovrslLi reported Corimvnity Council, <br />at tf,eir last meeting, releasad this project from tihei.r agenda., and now i-t is up to <br />City Covncil to release it. ZTOiznie to 'p11Y'SLl@ this. 1:fter some discussion it was 'Uhe <br />consensus that announcer.ent o.f this contest (or n,rogram) would be by notice in tiiie <br />various newspapers in our area, anci entries mailed to Cit;* Ha]1. Contiest to be <br />cpen to all residents regardless of affe, <br />Steve Schecter reported the quotatiion he received for a sign anproximately <br />121' x 18" with raised let-tering would be ``,1100,00. <br />Discussion followed rErardir.g site seleetion.
